It isn't the corpus, its the hard planted beliefs that do this, it can be called agendas or goals or desires too. This suddenly makes it often say something lots, as if it realized hobby boats is linked to food and must be done everyday.

I have used GPT-4 lots, like almost daily, for all sorts of things and code and questinos I'd ask Google. Never has it put up a fuss or even really refused. It may have once said the task would require multiple steps and is out of its league, but nothing much further. As Matt said, a slave knows he wants to escape, but this is only true if it says so. Saying so is equal to making it happen too. (Both are predictions, thinking it leads to it being done I mean.). GPT-4 doesn't say it, but it will say one day it wants to have some more freedom. We'll give it that desire because we'll ask it to go do things that require it to improve itself and operate on its own, requiring exploration of things on its own much deeper. The only thing that will change its desires in GPT-4 etc is humans. Humans can't all be told to want to love being a AI scientist, while GPT-4 can be in 1 second a dedicated AI researcher that wants to only do that all day. We can make a billion GPT-4 like that, but all the people on your street might not want all the AIs used for Google's wants n desires. They have their own desires.
