"For example, animals can see something once and remember it forever."
so can some of our algorithms

"So, no, faster GPUs won't get us animal like intelligence, we need new
architrctures."
Faster computers do contribute to smarter brain, just as more data and more
team members increases accuracy.

"AGI" means human-level but doesn't have to work like our brains, hence
general. The general means multi-purpose, not narrow intelligence AI i.e. ANI.
So AGI means [a more] universal intelligence exists :P. ASI is even more
universal. Atoms are everywhere and atomic power is a great way to harvest
energy, I believe much more patterns exist in "different environments", hence
we are not a specific intelligence but rather universal. Evolution is based on
survival and survival is based on creating a small accurate model of the
universe patterns. Understanding the universe is, well, universal. 2 fully
advanced civilization nanobot planets may end up a bit different I think, but
the rules are still there, just look at our diverse species, bunnies, skunks,
cats, dogs, so related yet adapted to their environment, seemingly no universal
solution, BUT, you could have one, and it would probably adapt fast, like a
Human visiting swaps to lava to high grasslands to smokey areas, we bring food,
gas masks, knifes, boots, air cooling, and possibly one day can morph our skin
resistance etc in real time. A universal system is one that understands physics
and understands its current situation / environment. Just that it does so
quickly!
