With a bit different motive, I've been doing this since I swore off
anonymous posts circa 1979 when at CDC Arden HIlls Operations, I was put in
charge of the PLATO network's user identity system for its Notes network
(precursor to Usenet). My motive was, and remains to this day, creating a
heuristic vector in The AGI to help guide it toward truth. I figured "The"
AGI would emerge, first, as an amalgam of all digital knowledge -- so my
identity would be only one of a gazillion identities -- many latent -- in
the data. My specific personality would be rather irrelevant -- a few
residual parameters to instantiate "me", and would not be of much interest
to anyone. After I got into neural networks in the late 80s and started
trying to get them to generalize on my hardware convolution (DataCube video
FIR) to do good multisource datafusion image segmentation, I realized how
important model parsimony was and focused on various pruning algorithms.
That's how I ended up serving truth by my emphasis on lossless compression
of a wide range of longitudinal data.

There was a time, however, during the 80s that I fell in love with a woman
so deeply that I wanted to create an AGI to preserve her personality
forever, and that was part of my motive for looking into early versions of
imitation learning -- which, of course, was a forlorn exercise.
