The Wiki in Africa team is calling for volunteer jury members to help review the Wiki Loves Africa Rapid Grant applications. Each year, the Wiki Loves Africa campaign supports communities across Africa to organize photo contests and related Wikimedia activities. To ensure a transparent and fair selection process, we’re inviting experienced Wikimedians to join the grant review committee — particularly those fluent in English and/or French. Who We’re Looking For We are seeking Wikimedians who:
* Have experience organizing or participating in Wikimedia community projects (especially photo-based events/contests). * Are familiar with Wikimedia Foundation grant processes (Annual, Rapid, Microgrants, or Community Fund). * Can read and assess applications in English and/or French. * Demonstrate impartiality, fairness, and confidentiality in evaluations. * Be willing to declare conflict of interest when applicable. * Are available to review applications within a two-weeks period. Responsibilities * Review and score submitted grant applications using established criteria. * Provide brief feedback or recommendations on proposals. * Participate in one short online coordination meeting (if required). * Uphold confidentiality and neutrality throughout the process. Time Commitment * Approximately 4 to 6 hours spread across 10-14 days in November 2025. * All materials and training will be provided.
