Dear African Wikimedians, On behalf of the *Moroccan Amazigh Wikimedians*, we are very happy and proud to announce that the *Wiktionary in Standard Moroccan Tamazight* (zgh) has been officially approved and launched on *11 August 2025*!
This marks an important new step for the *Tamazight language* and for our community’s mission to make free knowledge available in Amazigh languages. This achievement is part of a broader effort by Amazigh Wikimedians to grow the presence of Berber languages in the Wikimedia movement: - *Kabyle Wikipedia* – the very first Berber Wikimedia project – was launched on *6 May 2007*. - *Tachawit Wiktionary* – the first Wiktionary in a Berber language – was launched on *22 November 2019*. - *Tachelhit Wikipedia* – launched on *30 June 2021*. - *Standard Moroccan Tamazight Wikipedia* – launched on *7 November 2023*. - *Now: Standard Moroccan Tamazight Wiktionary* – launched on *11 August 2025*! We are committed to making Wikimedia projects accessible to *Amazigh speakers* and ensuring our languages and cultures are represented online. This project will serve as a crucial resource for speakers and learners of Standard Moroccan Tamazight. You can visit the new Wiktionary here: https://zgh.wiktionary.org/wiki/ⵡⵉⴽⵉⵎⴰⵡⴰⵍ:ⵜⴰⵙⵏⴰ_ⵏ_ⵓⵙⵏⵓⴱⴳ We take this opportunity to *thank the Wikimedia community*, and we *encourage our fellow African Wikimedians* to keep working on projects in local languages. Warm regards, *Zakaria B.* *On behalf of the Moroccan Amazigh Wikimedians community*
