Hello Wikimedians, Wiki In Africa is excited to announce the 2025 focus of the Wilson Oluoha Prize. The Wilson Olouha Prize honours the contribution of our late colleague Wilson Kelechi Oluoha to Wiki Loves Africa. As Community Facilitator for Wiki Loves Africa, Wilson was dedicated to doing more to celebrate the work of communities and user groups across Africa in highlighting local knowledge and cultures via the contest. It is a fitting tribute to his vision that the focus of the inaugural prize in his name celebrates their efforts
The 2025 Wilson Oluoha Prize will be awarded to three national winners selected from the Wiki Loves Africa National Winners Page <https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Wiki_Loves_Africa_2025/National_winners> by the Wiki In Africa team. 1st Prize : $500 USD 2nd Prize : $350 USD 3rd Prize : $150 USD Prizes may be awarded to photographs, videos or audio entries. However, only National Prize winners that have been uploaded to the Wiki Loves Africa National Winners Page <https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Wiki_Loves_Africa_2025/National_winners> will qualify. Wikimedian communities have until the Friday, 15 August 2025 to upload National Winners to the page in order to be considered Winners of the 2025 Wilson Oluoha Prize will be announced at Wiki Indaba in November separately from the International Winners as part of a campaign to bring attention to the incredible contributions of African Wikimedians in making Wiki Loves Africa a success.
