Dear African Wikimedians,

We are excited to announce the launch of *WIKI LOVES PRIDE 2025
<https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Event:Wiki_Loves_Pride/2025>. *is a global
campaign to expand and improve LGBT-related content across all Wikimedia
projects, organized by Wikimedia LGBT+. It takes place throughout the
entire month of June in celebration of the International

This year, the focus is "*Write Us In*" and we are calling on Wikimedians
who are LGBTQI+ or interested in LGBTQI+ stories and contents across the
world to join us in writing in LGBTQI+ histories, perspectives, and
advocacy efforts for justice and inclusion on Wikipedia and other Wikimedia
projects.

This challenge is an opportunity to:

   - Improve and create articles related to historical injustices,
   reparations, and African resilience.
   - Upload images and media to Wikimedia Commons to visually represent key
   moments in African history.
   - Translate content into African languages to ensure wider accessibility.
   - Engage in edit-a-thons and training sessionsto collaborate with fellow
   Wikimedians.

As part of the event this year, we have a call for NODES with financial
support for any group planning to organise events. We are actually keen to
work with regions and groups around the world that have limited
representation of content on LGBTQI+ issues.

If you wish to organise a NODE and apply for support, please kindly visit
this page and fill out the form

If you have further questions, please do reach out to me.
