I don't have an answer to your question, but if you're not burying it, why couldn't you just use the butt splices they sell at home stores that include heatshrink? Like this: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Gardner-Bender-16-14-AWG-Butt-Splice-Heat-Shrink s-7-Pack-AMT-4123/202522597
I think I've seen some that also have low melting point solder that can be activated by a heat gun. At least once I've actually put cable glands on the ends of a Type C conduit body (like an LB but straight), then taped it for good measure, and buried it. This would be more for jacketed cable rather than several individual 16 AWG wires. -----Original Message----- From: AF <af-boun...@af.afmug.com> On Behalf Of Matt Sent: Thursday, February 27, 2025 9:21 AM To: af@af.afmug.com Subject: [AFMUG] Sealing Wire Splice Occasionally I need to splice low voltage wiring in very damp environments. Like a few 16 gauge wires for a sensor. I remember seeing a plastic tray type thing that after joining the wires with whatever means you placed it in the tray, filled the tray with silicone RTV then snapped it shut. It looked something like an outdoor outlet cover like this but obviously much smaller. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08XQFR68N/ Anyone know what these were or where to get them? Maybe it was back in T1 days when they spliced underground? -- AF mailing list AF@af.afmug.com http://af.afmug.com/mailman/listinfo/af_af.afmug.com -- AF mailing list AF@af.afmug.com http://af.afmug.com/mailman/listinfo/af_af.afmug.com
