Why would you even look at these for house-barn links? Get something like a
Ubiquiti NS-5 AC Loco.

We have gone to using ePMP 300-16 when we want cnMaestro management of radios
behind a customer’s NAT router but they are quite a bit more expensive than the
NS5ACL, which we treat like goldfish, flush ‘em when they die, I wouldn’t buy
those used. Absolutely would not buy the M series Locos used, eventually the
tape over the LEDs will get destroyed by the sun and then rain will get in and
they will die. Oddly, they still sell M series Nanostations new.

I could go to walmart and get 2500 certificates per roll in multipaks of 8 or
more, real cheap. Our use is in connecting barns for farms as LAN extension to
the main house. Everything here is in a valley or hillside, not much chance of
interference with a weather station. I'm always on the lookout for ptp and
pt-mpt configurable on the fly, good-used. Gear that isn't reconfigurable on
the need is just a waste. Gear that has a reliability issue is also a waste.

thanks

Yes, you would buy these to use as SMs. If you’re not currently a Cambium 450
shop they probably don’t make sense for you. And yes you would need POEs.

The 450b SMs can be configured in PTP mode and I have one link this way
although it isn’t typical to use CBRS for PTP. I don’t believe the 450 SMs can
be used as the master for a PTP link.

In case it isn’t clear, these would have to be used in CBRS mode in the US. So
spectrum access system, certified professional installer, and all that.

So I gather I would also need an AP unit in order to make a single link as in
point A to point B and these units are purchased as subscriber modules and not
convertible? Plus I'd need power modules? Yep, "E" waste.

You need a mounting bracket, I think it’s called a “tilt bracket assembly”.
There’s an MTI mount that also fits but we only used those years ago when we
had some left over from the Trango days.

Looks like the Cambium part number is N000045L002A and Streakwave has some in
stock for about $28. It should not be discontinued because there are other
Cambium radios that use the same bracket.

I'm interested. We still have several 450m out in the wild.
