I was reading a thread complaining about McDonalds pricing, and it ended up
being about movie theaters pricing popcorn small $5, medium $9, large $10 to
get you to buy the large.  They called it "decoy pricing".  The middle price
is a decoy to make the top price look attractive.

 

I wonder if that's how ISPs get you to buy the gigabit plan, instead of the
200 or 500 Mbps plan.

 

Wasn't the rule supposed to be that given a choice of A, B, or C, people
would choose B?  I guess when it comes to prices, some people get the
cheapest, while others get the most expensive because it's just $10 more.
