When you share WIFI Information between devices, Like android, it just gives all the info in a QR code that the other phone can scan.

Remember ThioJoe?  He popped up in my browser today showing people how to put their WiFi SSID and password in a QR code to attach to the router.

Is this a good or bad idea?

When we set up a leased router for a customer, we usually print a WiFi label with a Brother labelmaker and stick it on the back of the router.  We have a desktop labelmaker at the office that can probably print QR codes, not sure we have one for the installers.  But aside from that, is this a security risk of some sort?  I guess a QR code is just a machine readable version of the text we’re already putting on the router.  And since you can put other images and text on a QR code label, we could put the human readable version and even our logo there.

Am I just being skeptical about this idea because it comes from a former YouTube troll?
