Hey everyone JJ with Skyrunner here, we just got some emergency transit in
place got our edge back online; this colocation facility may not be in the
clear quite yet. The fire department is having to fill the chillers We’ve been
able to restore emergency transit into our network, and only now are we
beginning to understand where to start. Unfortunately, many of our transport
paths are still down due to the storm. We're just starting to get a handle on
the full scope of the work ahead, and I’m incredibly grateful for everyone’s
willingness to help. However, I need to emphasize that we can’t encourage
anyone to come into the affected areas unless they are fully prepared—this
means bringing large amounts of fuel, Starlink units for communication, and
being ready to sleep in their vehicles and rely on the food they’ve brought.
Cellular networks are hard down, and conditions are extremely difficult.
Right now, the most valuable help we could receive would be getting our hands
on as many Starlink terminals as possible. We have pilots who are willing to
meet up with anyone who can supply these terminals, which will be critical in
getting our team connected. Once we can get more of our team online, we’ll be
able to put together a solid game plan. Currently, we’re essentially isolated,
as major interstates are closed in all directions, though we’ve heard there may
be access through I-26 from the south.
We’re aware of which sites are offline, and while many of these outages are
likely due to power issues, there are also likely downed fiber lines. Access to
many areas is extremely limited at the moment.
Again, we welcome any help, but we’re still working to understand what exactly
we need most. Skyrunner, a FISP/WISP based out of Asheville, NC, has been hit
hard by the storm. Many of us are without power or communication, and several
of our employees have lost their homes. I’ve never seen anything like this.
We’re in full survival mode.

What resources are there for storm recovery and who needs them? I know of one
medium sized WISP (I'd say north of 10k subs) that's dead in the water in NC.
I'm sure there's more hard down.

WISPA used to have an unofficial side group that worked this.
