I have a new generation square starlink dish and use it for the occasional
backup. Find it perfectly usable. But I've set it to router bypass mode
and plugged it into a tik as a secondary upstream with their ethernet
adapter.

In my experience I find that starlink isn't much different in behavior to a
typical entry level WISP service. But I'm also in a fairly rural area and
my expectations were rather low for starlink so I'm just happy to have a
mostly reliable backup which is useful for most things.

I'd still choose a good WISP over starlink, but starlink is finally
satellite internet which works good enough for most low volume users.

That's not to say they're perfect. Far from it. It's just that if you
compare them to the previous generation satellite or cellular in fringe
areas, I'd choose starlink every day.
