They do.  But they come up with a default config every time.  Bridge mode, 
default VLAN, default device name.

 

So all the names we’ve entered on the ONU will be lost when they switch to a 
new OLT, any in router mode will become bridge mode, and if any were in a 
custom VLAN for some reason, or port forwarding rules, or non-default LAN IP, 
etc all gone.



I think we’ve lucked out that 90% of them will just need the device name fixed 
and we’ve resigned ourselves to just having to do that after the migration.  Oh 
well.  Still seems like I should be able to pre-set that stuff.

Some fibers are getting re-routed and a few PON ports are going to end up at a 
different POP.  The catch is there are some ONU in bridge mode and others in 
router mode.  They also are all named with the customer ID.  It’s looking like 
when they reconnect I’ll have to go through and reconfigure each one.  I can’t 
believe there isn’t a way to pre-provision them.
