I see cae used a lot for many other things, usually used with at least
one more word, is it like "the"? The tree, the farm, the cemetery? The
language in Wales is weird, very unlike any other language on that island.
I just found in grammarphobia a reference to cae. It may mean a low
lying structure by a wharf or old wooden fence, or even low island.
Quay, cay, key, cae, quai, caio. So it could be a faded retaining
wall? The place where one of my searches lead to was some ruins near a
small town, looked like a low spot on google maps. Any, where ever this
place is is where a number of my ancestors were buried and/or came
from. So I'm thinking it may have been a house with a large field that
has decayed away to a bump on the ground.
