So, I just want to verify an assumption I've made. I know the difference
between UPC and APC connectors. You can't use one with the other and have
it work out well. I get that. My question has to do with adapters (couplers
like an SC to SC adapter) that you would have on, say, a patch panel. Is
there any difference between an APC SC to SC adapter and a UPC SC to SC
adapter, other than the color? My assumption is that they're just sleeves
to mate the two connectors, and they're agnostic as to whether those
connectors are APC or UPC. In other words, I'm thinking they're identical
and the different colors exist solely for easy identification to keep
people from mistakenly plugging in the wrong connector. So my question
comes down to this: Will an actual, functional problem result from
connecting two UPC connectors using an APC (green) SC to SC adapter?
