ATPC I’m not sure about the newest stuff (not my department anymore) but prior gear had poor modulation when the signal levels were too hot. We saw better performance when ATPC kept the RSSI in the sweet spot.
If you want to know if it degrades look at both RSSI and transmit power. If the transmit power is climbing, you have an issue.
