I would like to announce a new change in my career, I will be venturing back to the service provider side of the industry, where I started 26 years ago. I have accepted a position as Director of Development at NextLink. My roles are mostly, M&A activity, IOT research and liaisoning with government officials and regulatory bodies. Most of you know, I love this industry very much. I respect how hard everyone in the industry works every day, as we all strive to serve the underserved people in our service territories. Life and careers obviously are evolutionary. When I was in college, many years ago, I never dreamed my career would contain so many twists and turns. I have enjoyed each and every one of them. I plan to hang around in this group to keep in touch. I may pipe in from time to time with helpful comments like Cameron Kilton does. After all, that is what this group should be about, helping others solve problems. I will be truthful with you, I have usually found that asking nicely gets you much better response than asking bitterly. There is way to much hate in this country already. Social media has spawned a culture of “keyboard warriors”, who are probably great people face to face, but their online diatribes only waste other people’s valuable time and resources. If you think you fit that description, please find a way to answer or contribute to this group respectfully and calmly. Bitterness does not solve problems, it only escalates the emotions of everyone involved. I grew up in a time where “Please” and “Thank you” were commonplace and expected. I may be old-schooled, but I think we all would be better off if people embraced these words again. So out of respect for me, please think twice before leaving a negative comment on this post. I wish all of you good fortune in your business ventures and careers. I wish all of you and your family good health and success. I may come and visit some of you in the next year and I will be at WISPAmerica.
