You can do hybrid fiber with DC, or overlash some Cat6 with your fiber.
Alpha Technologies has a lot of equipment for this, but they're not
cheap. You'll get a distribution power supply at 70V (or more) and then
remote units that are basically a wide-mouth converter to 48v. Not sure
if PR is the same way, but 70V is a magic number in the states where you
don't need an electrician to work on it. So there's a lot of 70VDC
distribution in cable/telco plant. If you can pay an electrician every
time you touch the DC plant, then you can use higher voltage for longer
reach.
