Oh, and my sister (5 years older) let me have the culverts all to myself (the area was a rattlesnake haven) she was soo nice to me. Heart of gold. Well maybe not gold, yesterday that same sister got a titanium heart valve.

Take them to the local store and get maybe a penny or two per can. (deposit law). Then the store owner would give us a slice of baloney for a penny or two. So all the kids would essentially get a free snack anytime they wanted if they took the time to find some cans or bottles. Bottles were more. Maybe 5 cents. Sour baloney was something I had on a regular basis as a kid. Not sure if it was due to me hiding a sandwich for a few days in my bedroom, or if our local store just had old stuff. They would slice up however much you wanted. Or if my mom just kept it too long in the fridge. Or maybe she left it out... Didn’t kill me. During summer a baloney sandwich with lettuce, butter, maybe some miracle whip, left in a hot black James Bond 007 metallic lunch box for hours. Buttery wilted lettuce hot sandwich. Man, good eats! I have not been able to eat bologna since elementary school bag lunches. Tasteless lunchmeat on tasteless white bread. Makes me want to puke just thinking about it. Looks fine in Jaime’s photo, just don’t use the word bologna, it brings back bad memories. And please don’t bring up the “my bologna has a first name” jingle. And apparently “bologna sandwich” has been used as an insult against both presidential candidates. Either because of the initials B.S., or because it connotes blandness. Not all bologna, mind you, but teh word "bologna" comes in many different forms; not all are pleasant. OTOH, there are some bologna that I like better than spam. So there is the crux of the issue. Spam is consistent. It may not be top of the list, but it's not the bottom of the list either. If Spam was a 50, "bologna" probably ranges from 35 to 65, or something like that. I will go for a consistent 50 before I go with a 35.
