Back when I was a young telephone repairman, I had a repeated service call to a
place the used to be a barbershop but was turned into an apartment. Weird
young guy there had it full of cats. The cats kept chewing the line cord off
the phone. The smell was so bad that I would hold my breath, go in and attach
a new line cord to the connector block, then drag the phone outside and connect
the cord to the phone and test it while sitting on the sidewalk. This was
before phones that had modular cords...

So the last time I had to go there, the guy bitches that I am letting all his
cold air out. He called my boss, my boss told me to just suck it up and fix
the phone in the house. I asked my boss to come over and show me how that is
to be done.

Of course that pissed him off but he was like one block away from this place so
he came stomping over with a tool belt on. Went in and came right back out and
told me to finish on the sidewalk...

There is another more famous story that is similar. I will see if I can find
it.

Yeah cats tend to get up and into everything in the house. Why I don't have
them as pets. A dog would just chew it and the wires ..

Just got a call from a customer

"Our cat just sat on the desk waiting for me to walk into the room, and
then barfed in the router. Nowhere else, except for squarely into the
router"
