Crap, clicked send accidentally. Edge routers are typically for your internet facing edge. This may or may not be the same as your core router/switch. It looks like we're moving toward a edge router, a shaper, then the core L3 switch.
The customer facing edge is called often called "distribution", or "access" in telco/traditional ISP terms.
