I used the phrase "every Tom, Dick and Harry" in a post on a Cambium Community forum, and was warned by the forum software that I had used a "bad word" and required to "clean up" my post.
Reminds me of a joke involving Dewey, Nixon and Truman, and the punchline "do you expect me to see every Tom, Dick and Harry who walks into my office?" But seriously, you can't say Dick anymore? What if I tried to post about Dick's Sporting Goods? Or if Chuck posted a photo of him eating Spotted Dick on his last trip to England? I assume saying someone was acting like a dick would be totally unacceptable. Could I say someone was acting like a Karen?
