I would think Fiberglass would be easier on the feet too. Smoother. Less subject to cracking with the earth freeze thaw cycles etc. I would think a fiberglass repair would be easier and more likely to be a strong permanent repair.
I do like the idea of a custom form with gunite. Fiberglass is more cookie-cutter, but is still available in a wide variety of shapes within reason.
