The Cambium PMP450 SMs with FPGAs that still sell for around $230 are a bit
different - economies of scale when selling 1000 to 100 000 to a customers,
and 100mbit Ethernet only.

For the AF5X(HD), having the faster FPGA or proprietary chipset, Gigabit
performance etc, I don't think that Ubiquiti is making a big profit selling
the AF5XHD for under $400 USD. As such I can't imagine that they could sell
a smaller-market radio with higher performance / using hardware for a more
rare frequency, with an FPGA/proprietary chipset, for only $300.
