We get fiber on reels from 18" to 96" in diameter. Frequently Codale cuts
us a length that has the correct footage for the job.

Subject: [AFMUG] Fiber drop reel sizes
I can get better pricing on larger drop cable reels, but they get unwieldy.
If I use short (1000', 2000') reels then I feel like every single one
comes back with 200' left on it and that's too short for almost any
fiber install. Basically 10-20% is just thrown away in that case.
What size spools are you getting? Do you guys buy a respooler and have
installers crank out what they need onto smaller spools, or do you equip
installers to handle big reels such as with a trailer? Or what?
I'm unused to the logistical problems of large quantities of cable, so
I'm assuming I'm doing it all wrong.
