Quick note for those interested... In the RackInjector, the Cambium Sync card and the Polarity Agnostic boards have been capable of passing through -48VDC to the radios. So if you have radios which were compatible with -48VDC you could power them directly off of a -48VDC source without a DC-DC converter.
The caveat being that the control electronics in the RackInjector needed at least one positive DC supply, so you'd have to do a small DC-DC converter just for the control electronics. As of today, we're shipping the new RackInjector Control Board Rev B0 which contains a small negative to positive voltage DC-DC converter to eliminate this shortcoming. So, if you have a -48VDC site with only -48VDC capable radios, you can get away from any need for a DC-DC converter. This converter will power on all of the electronics and also the attached GPS receiver. There are a couple other minor improvements on the RevB0 board as well. The only other one which probably is worth mentioning is that we've changed the way the power control is set up on the GPS receiver port. This change means that rebooting the control board will NOT Result in the GPS losing power, and as such will not result in any loss of sync to attached radios during a reboot or reset event. -- *Forrest Christian* *CEO**, PacketFlux Technologies, Inc.* Tel: 406-449-3345 | Address: 3577 Countryside Road, Helena, MT 59602 [email protected] | http://www.packetflux.com <http://www.linkedin.com/in/fwchristian> <http://facebook.com/packetflux> <http://twitter.com/@packetflux>
