I would challenge requiring an electrician license for steel work.
I would not challenge needing some kind of contractors license for steel work.

I was mistaken it is under Fixed works GF-7 tanks and towers. Electrician
license is required for putting in ground rods Electrical specialty license
ES-2 cathodic protection, including lightening protection systems.

Trust me it is not anything that can be challenged it is part of the state
building code. You have to have 2 years experience, and pass test on general
business ethics and general contracting. Along with jumping through a bunch of
red tape if you operate from out of state. You are required to pull a building
permit for any major modification to a tower and to most
municipalities/counties that is anything they notice. If they notice the tower
owner will get a nasty notice and you will probably be notified to kindly
remove everything and go elsewhere. NJ I believe is another state that has some
weird licensing.

I would challenge that. Steel erection should never require any form of
electrician license.

Yes some states do require you to have a license to do tower work. NM is one
I know that does this You must have a special electrician license to get a
permit for adding anything to a tower. I am not sure about TN I don't think
they do, but if they are asking I would have them to specify exactly what
license they require more than likely it is just certification and insurance.

Company I work for had a tower on the border of Tennessee and NC company is
in NC tower is on the TN side

It's a TV station tower top of a mountain only 100ft tower but told it's
required to have a tower climbing license and certificate to climb this tower

Anyone know what we need to do to get this done for one of our installers
so we don't have to keep waiting on a climber?

    Thanks,
