Hi, I recently heard from a user that this post was causing confusion, so I wanted to clarify the behavior. The *specific* conversion tracker of the effective conversion tracking account does not have to exist before the click. However, the effective conversion tracking account must have at least *one* conversion tracker before the click. Adding the *first* conversion tracker to an account enables conversion tracking for the account, as explained in the Google Ads API conversions guide <https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/docs/conversions/overview#effective_conversion_account> .
