Hi,

You can get the search term associated with a GCLID using the Click Performance 
Report and querying the CriteriaParameters. To get the conversion action (from 
your CRM), you would have to do what you said and get the Click Performance 
Report from AdWords on the impression date and map the GCLID to your CRM on the 
conversion date.

The conversion in Google Ads will be reflected on the impression date. You can 
find additional information on this here.
