Hi Berry, DevicePreference is a field that you explicitly add in your code when creating an image ad. See https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/reference/v201502/AdGroupAdService.ImageAd#devicePreference for details.
So if you see the devicePreference field set, then that means that your code is sending that field. API doesn't set this preference automatically. As for the disapprovals, the change history suggests that your ads were initially rejected for destination URL not working, but seems they have been approved again. Cheers, Anash P.
