I've also observed differences between the API report and the UI report. I suspect that the API returns the raw search text, while Google's UI cleans it up and makes things consistent. Here are some observations:
- API report has upper and lower case letters; UI only has lower case - API report has newlines and tabs; white spaces in the UI are all spaces - API report has punctuation; UI does not (only alphanumeric from what I can tell) Does this sound consistent with what you know?
