Hello Peter, It can take some time for these stats to become available via the API. You can see information on how fresh your data is at our support article on the topic <https://support.google.com/adwords/answer/2544985?hl=en>. If you're running reports on recent events (for today or yesterday), then you might encounter the behavior you described.
If you're looking at older events, please provide a little bit more detail and I can take a closer look.
