As per the blog notice: http://googleadsdeveloper.blogspot.co.uk/2012/05/adwords-api-v2011091-new-adwords.html, the are new Keyword match properties NEAR_EXACT and NEAR_PHRASE, which allow API users to opt in/out of these match types.
I can't find any documentation for these - can you point me in the right direction?
