I don't know much Python so I can't help with the code itself, but you need to set the dateRangeType<http://code.google.com/apis/adwords/docs/reference/latest/ReportDefinitionService.Selector.html#dateRange>field of your report definition to 'CUSTOM_DATE', then add set the dateRange<http://code.google.com/apis/adwords/docs/reference/latest/ReportDefinitionService.Selector.html#dateRange>field of your selector to a valid DateRange<http://code.google.com/apis/adwords/docs/reference/latest/ReportDefinitionService.DateRange.html> .
