If you do not implement this change it causes your reporting to fail. So saying that it doesn't remove functionality is just false.
Regardless of how simple the change is, the API Team's callous disregard for the importance to e-commerce and shopping of this period of the year is frankly staggering. There is a reason Black Friday got it's name, and it hasn't changed because shopping is moving to the web. The period between Nov 1st, and Jan 1st is essential to any retail merchant; and as a primary tool to drive traffic AdWords is a key component of that business. So ANY chance of breaking risk right now is unacceptable. The risk to patching production code (again regardless of how simple) during this period of the year isn't ameliorated by pushing it back a few days. Had this change been implemented in Oct, or Jan it would be as simple as you describe. -Ian On Nov 9, 6:39 am, Kevin Winter <kevin.win...@google.com> wrote: > The 4 months refers to the deprecation period in our Terms and > Conditions:http://code.google.com/apis/adwords/docs/terms.html(bottom) > > This change does not remove functionality and should require only a few > lines of code changed, so we felt this was a reasonably change to make > mid-release.
