Hi Peter, If you look at DownloadReport.php, you can see that the code calls the following line to download the report:
ReportUtils::DownloadReport($reportDefinitionId, $path, $user); So if you copy this line to your class that generates report definition and provide it $reportDefinitionId (your report definition id), $path (path where your report will be saved), and $user(already available on the page) then that should do the trick.
