Hi Craig, You could use the Java client library from http://code.google.com/p/google-api-adwords-java instead, you can find all the java code examples here. As for the snippet you need, it will look something like this when using the Java client library.
AdWordsUser user = new AdWordsUser(); // Get AccountService. AccountInterface accountService = user.getService(AdWordsService.V13.ACCOUNT_SERVICE); // Displays the account's name, timezone, language, and currency.
