Hi Ian, The fields returned by getReportFields() is always the most up-to- date. We are working on ways to keep the documentation more in sync with these values.
As for predicates, the error reporting for them isn't very robust at the moment, so it can be hard to catch errors. Post the reportDefinitionId and we can look into the problem for you.
