Hi,
I have been researching this issue over the last few weeks. There is no
supported native connector in Looker Studio for Google Ads. Explanation I
got, was that Google Ads is NOT standard, without any more details, but
which now I infer would mean that one needs lots of information to acces
data, metrics inside a a Google Ads account. One needs a developer token,
specific information about campaigns and ads, etc. So, even if one would
start to develop a custom community connector for Google Ads using curl
calls to Google Ads API the community connector would still not be
available for on-the-fly customer switching which Linking API is providing,
unless the switch-to user already owns a developer token. Most customer do
not have that, and do not to be bothered getting one.
I was looking then to service account support in Google Ads API, but I see
that even such an account is setup one still needs to use the developer
token.
So my question is, is there any method or process so that one could switch
users on a report that uses a Google Ads API? As smoothly as possible? With
as little informationas possible needed? Like a GA4 connector switches
between user just using two numbers, basically?
Thanks in advance for any info.
