As of V17 of the API you can set the field keyword_match_type to "BROAD" when creating or updating a campaign: https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/reference/rpc/v17/Campaign#keyword_match_type
If set, this value will be visible when retrieving the campaign via the reporting API: https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/fields/v17/campaign#campaign.keyword_match_type Hope this helps, D.H.
