As per blog post is on the migration of deprecated feed based image and location extensions to asset based extensions. I am afraid that asset based Image / location extensions are not supported. To answer this "So after the auto-migration happens, how can I get that Location (and Image) Extension data from the Assets?", unfortunately, we can give any information in the feature related questions as this is still on process.
