Hello Rob, The lack of a standard UI for the Sandbox environment is not ideal, I know. The current, semi-out-of-the-box solution is to use APIlity Agua, an open source web interface built on top of APIlity that can go against the Sandbox as the backend:
http://google-apility.sourceforge.net/agua.html You'd have to host the PHP scripts yourself, and I don't personally have any experience using it, but I do understand that others have successfully used it for the purpose of viewing the Sandbox. Additionally, I recommend that you stay tuned to this Google Group for potential future announcements.
