I may be reading your email incorrectly, but: The DP for Exchange should 'mount' the TDP database first and then you should be able to restore one or more mailboxes, one email from one mailbox or the whole DB. You need to make sure that whatever drive on your TDP server that you are mounting/restoring the TDP DB to, is atleast the same size as the original TDP DB. I should have been more specific. My Exchange admin is trying to restore a mailbox using the DP for Exchange GUI. It doesn't give him any option to do a preview before starting the restore. Are you restoring a volume from a primary tape pool, node, or a (at the server); or a file (group of files) on a client? There is a "preview=yes" option for restoring a volume, but I don't see that for restoring files from the client: Syntax .- --FILE-. >>-REStore--+---------+--+------------+-------------------------> '- --options-' >--+- --sourcefilespec----------------------+-------------------> '- --{--filespacename--}--sourcefilespec-' >--+------------------------+-----------------------------------> '- --destinationfilespec-' >--+-----------------------------------+------------------------> '-BACKUPSETName=--+-backupsetname-+-' +-localfilename-+ '-tapedevice----' >--+-----------------------+----------------------------------->< '-LOCation=--+-server-+-' +-file---+ '-tape---' George Huebschman (George H.)
