Hi Daniel,

> - Is it possible to do Incremental VSS backups of an exchange database?
Yes. When you do this, you get a snapshot of the log LUN.
If you keep them as "LOCAL" persistent snapshots, the logs
are copied from the snapshot to the source drive at restore time.

You need to purchase FlashCopy Manager in order to
create LOCAL backups (persistent snapshots.)

What’s the difference between Data Protection for Exchange
and FlashCopy Manager?
 - The packages are essentially the same
 - The difference is in the capabilities, licensing, and pricing
 - Deciding to use DP/Exchange or FCM (or both together)
   is based on your requirements

You might want to peruse the DP/Exchange or FCM User's Guide,
since there are some best practices, especially when it comes to
storing persistent backups on space-efficient snapshot LUNs.
