Hi Eric, Does the cluster think the machine is down and performs a failover?
If so, you may need adjust the Cluster Heartbeat Settings. You will see a number of google hits for the same thing with VMware Exchange DAG cluster snapshots. Some of the values VMware recommends changing are: * SameSubnetDelay * CrossSubnetDelay * CrossSubnetThreshold * SameSubnetThreshold This shows you how to change the values. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd197562%28v=ws.10%29.aspx Thank you, Del ---------------------------------------------------- "ADSM: Dist Stor Manager" <ADSM-L@vm.marist.edu> wrote on 01/13/2014 10:12:16 AM: > From: "McWhorter, Eric" <emc...@uky.edu> > To: ADSM-L@vm.marist.edu, > Date: 01/13/2014 10:13 AM > Subject: Using TSM for VE for backing up Microsoft Cluster SQL > Sent by: "ADSM: Dist Stor Manager" <ADSM-L@vm.marist.edu> > > We are having a tough time with using TSM for VE and backing up > Microsoft SQL servers in a clustered config. > > It looks like the quiesce of the VM causes trouble within the cluster. > > Just curios if anyone has had better luck with backing up a > clustered SQL server that we are :-) > > Thanks >
