Are you asking how copy pool works? We number our pools, such as DB-xxx-01, the disk, primary and copy pools all have the same prefix and suffix. This helps us keep the pools from getting mixed. When we run backupstg we backup the disk pool and primary pool to the matching copy pool. Backupstg for simplicity is an incremental backup, it looks to see if an object is in the copy pool, if not it copies it. So an object is backed up from the disk pool then migrated to the tape pool will not be backed up from the tape pool. So if I understand your question correctly you should run 3 backupstgs each day, disk pool, tape pool and active pool to the same copy pool. You want to run it for all three just in case an object is missed as it moves through the pools.
We do not use the simultaneous write option because of our limited number of tape drives. We do not use active pools because our primary pools are on VTL and we have not had the need. Does this help? I testing the migration between diskpool and tapepool (the data will migrate sucessfully (but data was still on diskpool (0.4%) and too on the tape in tapepool (q content volume_name) I create the copypool pool and in the tapepool integrade the copypool to the pool of copy and write simultany but that don't work (no copy in copypool)) How dows the copypool work ? 2: In my activepool-file i have no data in but the data was presents in the diskpool How the activepool-file work too?
