Does this happen to all your VM's or just this one? If it affects all your VM's, possibly the CBT license file is not installed. Otherwise suggest you open a ticket with Tivoli. If it is only one VM, FWIW I have had a few Linux machines (they were not red hat) where VMware was never able to provide CBT information.

Full VM backup continues, and includes both used and unused areas of the disk. The problem is that we are using the feature of Thin provisioning by giving more disk capacity, so in my example: Have a disk name : Hard disk 2 Provisioned Size: 1.6 TB We have around 100GB data on this disk . but when running the first backup got: Processing snapshot disk: [netapp-moodle-4500] mdb2/mdb2.vmdk (Hard Disk 2) Capacity: 1,610,612,736,000 Data to Send: 1,610,612,736,000 Transport: (hotadd)[sending] I thought even is the first backup it will still backup only 100GB and not the full provisioned size 1.6T ! I miss obviously something ? Regards Robert
