As others will no doubt chime in, a 5.4 to 5.5 upgrade is VERY easy.
As for version to go to, I went with the latest I could download (getting
downtime here is difficult)
Apart from making sure you have good copies of volhist/devconfig/DRM
prepare I tend to do my last DB backup to devtype=file for the fastest
recovery

Hi Guys,
I have plans to upgrade my TSM server from 5.4 version to 5.5.
Please share your views about this version upgrade and which is the
optimal level I should upgrade to (i.e. 5.5.x.x). I am doing this
upgrade as we have future plans to move to 6.2 version.
My current TSM environment is
Platform: AIX 5.3 TL 10
Server hardware: power 5 52A (4 GB RAM), Attached to DS4700 through
SAN switch.
TSM server version: 5.4.1.2
TSM client version: some at 5.4 & 5.5 version.
