Hi Remco....Thanks
The VM machines are Windows 2000 Can the TSM 6.1 client be

checked but it doesn't appear so
The proxy server and the Virtual Center Server are windows 2003 they
have the Tivoli 5.5.2 client installed. Would the TSM 6.1 Client
have to
be installed on all the servers involved?
the essence of vcb is that you only need a client on the proxy for
making backups, for restores you might need a client on the target vm,
though I'm still not convinced that you need that in all cases.
(windows shares can be used as a restore target from the proxy,
assuming network policies allow you to map the target disk on the
proxy etc...).
Of course, win2k being what it is, you just might have found another
reason to dump it. Retoring data with any down-level client might be a
challenge even with the restore client being at 5.3 and the proxy at
5.5...

Hi,
get either the TSM 6.1 client or the STORServer VCB agent, each one
will make your life a lot easier.

Hello,
I am also working with VM/VCB for the first time
Can anyone help with the following steps? they need to be
performed to
prepare to backup and restore VMs using the VCB server:
Set up TSM scheduling to automate the backup/restore process of VM
files
and full VM images.
Scripting in TSM to include flat file backups so that TSM clients
can
eventually be removed off of the VMs. (any example of what the
script
would look like)
Any, Comments, Help, Suggestions or/and examples are welcome.
Thanks in advance
